Pricing Info

The difficulty of the return determines the price. Here is an example and only an example.

The couple had one spouse who had two W2's and some self-employment income. The other spouse was only self-employed. The self-employed spouse received a 1099-misc from one client and only had records of payment from another. The spouse also kept detailed mileage reports and other business expenses (phone, internet, etc). The spouse who had two W2's also kept records for his/her self-employment expenses. The couple also received dividends (form 1099-div) and bank interest. They rented their home and had student loan interest. They did not itemize. Due to the business (from the self-employed only spouse) doing better than expected, they ended up owing both the state and the federal government money. We discussed ways to lessen the tax burden for the following year with them.

The charge for electronically filing their federal and state (they only had one state) returns and the tax planning advice was only $168.
